Today's story is primarily about Sowilo and Perthro.

Sowilo is the rune of the sun, of lightning, and of seeing that which you could not see before, and will be unable to see again.
Perthro is the rune of mystery, chance, of water-well, and of dice.

Sowilo didn't seem to notice as Perthro slid a little closer to her on the bench. Sowilo's golden hair reflected the firelight in shimmering waves around the room, and Perthro felt warmer just sitting next to her.#futharkvillage @MightySigurd @SRCExplores @rhipossessed

On the table in front of him, Perthro's plate of food was practically untouched. He had drunk his mead thoroughly to work up the courage to sit this close to Sowilo, but his stomach was too busy dancing over this gamble for him to eat.#futharkvillage @MarieHa44988077 @ILupine

Perthro knew he didn't have much time, and would have to make his move quickly. Some time soon, Sowilo would be called to the high seat which had been erected for her to proclaim her prophecies. Then it would be too late.#futharkvillage @Hyrrokkin89 @Apez140 @WolfofOdin420

Perthro waited patiently for Sowilo to finish saying something he couldn't make out to her brother, Thurisaz. As he heard the murmur of her conversation end, he thought to himself, This is it."Um, Sowilo?" Perthro asked. Sowilo turned to face him.#futharkvillage @blithgunde

"Yes, Perthro," Sowilo said politely. "What do you need?"
— Perseus Greenman (@futharkvillage) November 1, 2019
Perthro's tongue was tied. She was so beautiful, so noble, and though his mouth gaped open, he was unable to speak.
"Perthro?" Sowilo asked again.
"Sowilo!" King Mannaz's voice boomed across the room.#futharkvillage
And then the moment was gone. Sowilo rose from the bench and took her place at the high seat. Ansuz began singing the poems, songs, and runes of prophecy, allowing Sowilo to see into the future.

"I see," Sowilo began, seated atop her throne.#futharkvillage
"I see a new hammer for Uruz. No, wait. Not for Uruz. It will be made by Uruz, but it is too fine to be wielded by a mortal man. The hammer shall be called Flaming Bull, and it shall be wielded by the children of Thor."

There was a susurration from the crown. #futharkvillage
Thurisaz shouted over the crowd, "The sons of Thor are dead! They were killed at Ragnarok with their father and the rest of the gods!"
— Perseus Greenman (@futharkvillage) November 1, 2019
"No!" Sowilo replied forcefully. "Thor's sons, and his daughter, still yet live, and they are fighting."#futharkvillage
Sowilo kept talking. She prophesied a good harvest for Jera the Farmer, some new colts born in Ehwaz's stables, and a comedy of errors for Naudhiz.

Then, for a moment, she went silent.
"Warriors!" She shouted. "Grab your weapons, we are about to be attacked!"#futharkvillage
The door to the mead hall was closed and barred. The warriors grabbed their weapons: hammers and swords and axes spears and bows. When the villagers were in defensive positions, the room got deathly quiet. Eiwaz the Archer and General Algiz peeked out windows.#futharkvillage

The sun was still shining, though its rays were waning into twilight.

General Algiz called Sowilo to the western window. "If they attack from the west, I won't be able to see them under all this sunlight. Do you know where they will come from?"#futharkvillage
"No," Sowilo replied. "I only know that you and the other warriors will be covered in blood. Now that I have said it aloud, I believe that it will not be your blood."

"There is nothing to be done," Eiwaz whispered, "but sit and wait." He nocked an arrow.#futharkvillage
And then a spear flew in through the western window, lodging itself in the table behind them.#futharkvillage
