Today's story focuses on Thurisaz the Giant-Slayer and Raidho the Traveler.

Thurisaz is a rune of conflict. I would say a battle counts.
Raidho is a rune of movement, and trust me: things are going to move today!#futharkvillage pic.twitter.com/ut6p1YgYlW
Thurisaz cursed, then streaked toward the door like lightning. He zigged around one warrior and zagged under another's sword. As soon as he exited the mead hall, he was confronted by three spears pointed right at the door. #futharkvillage @MightySigurd @SRCExplores @Apez140

Thurisaz dropped his weight, ducking under a thrust from the center one’s spear, then rose straight up, catching the spear on his shoulder. While he did this, he darted his sword out, catching his rightmost opponent’s spear against his own crossguard.#futharkvillage

While Thurisaz was dealing with those two, the spearman on his left dropped his spear and drew his sword. He slashed at Thurisaz, who tried to block, but his sword was lodged in the other spearman. #futharkvillage @rhipossessed @MarieHa44988077 @rhipossessed @Hyrrokkin89

But before the blow could land, a cape wrapped itself around the sword, yanking it back. Thurisaz looked up to see Raidho the Traveler punch the spearman in the face. "Move, Thurisaz!" Raidho called. #futharkvillage @ILupine @WolfofOdin420 @blithgunde

"I'm right behind you," Thurisaz said with the ferocity of a thunderstorm. "We can still catch Sowilo's kidnappers before we lose the light entirely."

Thurisaz didn't bother to step over his fallen foes as he ran down the hill after Raidho. #futharkvillage
The kidnappers had a strong head start, Raidho though to himself while running, and they were running into the sun. Also, they probably know the way. We only just finished building the great hall last week. They may have been here for years.#futharkvillage

The kidnappers crested a hill, and were quickly out of Raidho's sight. Thurisaz had caught up at this point, so Raidho pushed himself to run just a little faster, to help rescue his friend, and Thurisaz's sister.#futharkvillage

Thurisaz the giant-slayer ran as hard as he could, and still struggled to keep up with Raidho. Raidho was living up to his nickname, "The Traveler," putting on such speed. Thurisaz's nickname was "The Giantslayer," and giants don't tend to move that fast.#futharkvillage

When they crested the hill, they saw a ship in the river below. Eiwaz was on another hill, to the South, loosing arrow after arrow at the space between the kidnappers and the ship, pinning the warriors on the shore.#futharkvillage

Eiwaz couldn't directly shoot at the kidnappers, for fear of hitting Sowilo, but neither could they approach their ship safely, with so many arrows raining down in their path.

"Just go!" Raidho heard the one holding Sowilo's arms shout to the ship.#futharkvillage
The ship started to move, and the kidnappers moved up the shore with it. Eiwaz wasn't able to adjust quickly enough, which allowed them to get closer to the river. Soon, they were close enough to push Sowilo up onto the deck, and then they climbed up themselves. #futharkvillage
